Pavement Kings are Ireland’s rockabilly royalty
“Pavement Kings are the most exciting live rock n roll act in Ireland right now” says Imelda May, and she should know!
Pavement Kings front man Simon Farrell played double bass with Imelda’s band on her triumphant 2008 UK tour, before striking out to form The Pavement Kings, along with rockabilly stalwarts Ciaran ‘Foxy’ Murphy (on guitar), and Shane Atlas (on the trash-can drums).
A Pavement Kings’ live show is something to behold, and has been described as “a white-knuckle ride of blinding slap-bass rockabilly” [entertainment.ie], a high-octane trip to the halcyon days of rock n roll music, we guarantee you will not be able to stay in your seat!
September 29th 2013 saw the release of the band’s debut album “It’s a Hip-Shake Thing”, which features guest appearances by Gavin Povey, pianist with Albert Lee’s legendary band ‘Hogan’s Heroes’, and saxophonist Ciaran Wilde, a legend of the Irish jazz scene. The CD is available to buy from the band’s homepage, click here to go directly to their own website.
The boys are already festival favourites here at home, and have played as far afield as Italy and France. March 2013 saw them visit the USA for the first time. The band flew to South America in November 2013 for a two-week tour of Brazil, and there are trips to Japan and Russia scheduled for 2014.

And finally another video:
TV Jones and the Tomahawks are a bunch of misfits who were dragged kickin and screamin from their Setzer , rev Horton , Robert Gordon , Stray Cats records ,and their simple country upbringing , forced at gunpoint to write some murdereous tunes with psychopathic lyrics , and told to basically get on with it.
So they have !!
The Debut album “There’s only one Cure” would probably go Platinum if the band would just get off it’s arse and promote itself, but instead they are content to forge ahead with new material and remind live audiences everywhere that knees are meant for bopping , hips for shaking, and toes are for tapping.
The Tomahawks family are …..Nox (slappin bass) Tomahawk, Tony (twangin’) Tomahawk , Pius (Yellowman) Tomahawk (bins&buckets), and TVJones Conroy (doo wop screamin hoedown vox)
Influences: Setzer, Elvis , Stray Cats , Johnny Burnette , Eddie Cochran , Boz Boorer , Hank Williams , Morrissey , Wilko , anybody with a guitar and a good 4/4 rumble

5 years ago a crack Rock N Roll band was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the underground music scene. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of volume.
